A few times it is mentioned that someone died from an ectopic pregnancy that went unnoticed. Also a large part of the story focuses on finding Rosie’s biological father after her father tells her that her mother (who is dead) had a one night stand resulting in Rosie’s existence. So. Ya know, there’s that.
Read the synopsis for book two to know that children and pregnancy are definitely on topic. I’m actually not sure if I’ll read it…
